New Business Intelligence Platform

The Danish Emergency Management Agency and the Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO) have chosen Context& to develop IDUN – a new business intelligence platform that modernizes the use of emergency response data for incidents and operations.

Data on incidents and operations in the Danish emergency services is currently presented in a way that makes it difficult to gain an overview and convert data into usable knowledge for planning, prevention, and decision-making.

With the IDUN project, the Danish Emergency Management Agency and DALO are taking a significant step towards a more data-driven emergency response service. Context& has been selected as the supplier of the solution, which will collect data from both the ODIN system and the 112 application in a single, secure, and user-friendly platform.

"Previously, emergency response data was presented in a way that made it difficult to get an overall picture of what was actually happening across the country. With IDUN, we are modernizing access to valid data, which makes it easier to translate efforts and experiences into real knowledge and better planning."

Chief Consultant, the Danish Emergency Management Agency

One platform – many purposes

IDUN will be a shared business intelligence solution that will give emergency services, authorities, and the public access to reliable data and insights about incidents across the country.

The solution will be based on Microsoft technology and include:

• Power BI Report Server for reporting and visualization

• SQL Server and Analysis Services for data modeling

• CMS solution for publishing public content

• MitID login and access management for secure user administration

Foundation for data-driven development

When IDUN is complete, it will be a key tool for more coherent and transparent emergency response in Denmark.

The platform will form the basis for analyses of incidents, prevention, and resource consumption, while also giving the public access to key figures and facts about the role of emergency response.

"Previously, emergency response data was presented in a way that made it difficult to get an overall picture of what was actually happening across the country. With IDUN, we are modernizing access to valid data, which makes it easier to translate efforts and experiences into real knowledge and better planning." – Britt Nyborg, Chief Consultant, the Danish Emergency Management Agency.

Clear direction – flexible architecture

The solution is designed to be modular, with the option to expand and adapt the platform over time. This ensures low maintenance, high security, and flexibility in line with new needs and technological opportunities.
