Salary management app ensures greater transparency in salary negotiations

Key outcomes

01

Salary review process time reduced from six weeks to 15 days through automation and digitization.

02

Greater transparency and data-driven decision-making enabled by real-time insights via Power BI, leading to stronger leadership outcomes.

03

A secure and user-friendly app built on Power Platform with access control and centralized data governance to ensure compliance and scalability.

The challenge

As part of its efforts to digitize internal operations, Falck has created a foundation for developing apps using the Microsoft Power Platform.

In this context, Falck wanted to develop a new app solution to manage the annual salary and bonus negotiation process. Every year, managers in the organization are given a budget to distribute among their employees. Until now, the process has been done manually using Excel spreadsheets, which is time-consuming, prone to errors, and has high-security risks.

"The biggest issues with the salary negotiation process are how cumbersome and time-consuming it is and the lack of insight it provides."

Felipe López

Power Platform Manager, Falck

"When I decided we should work on this app solution, I looked at business value and strategic relevance. We chose it because we knew a secure user experience would be cost-effective and get more organizational stakeholders to use it. We also knew we could use many great features on the Power Platform to build it."

The solution

In close collaboration, Context& and Falck's Power Platform team have finalized Falck's new app, Merit, for handling salary negotiations. With Context&'s technical and process knowledge of Power Platform, it took just a few months to complete.

In developing the app, the focus has been on value creation, cost savings, and minimizing risks. The app's security level is guaranteed through the low-code security mechanism in Microsoft Dataverse - a key part of the Power Platform that offers 100 percent governance and data security. The technology ensures that access restrictions can be set up so that employees can only see the data they are authorized to see.

The result

With the new solution, Falck now has an intuitive app that is easy to use and, above all, makes the salary negotiation process more efficient. The method used to take up to a month and a half, but now it takes 15 days.

The original process needed more overview and transparency, and assumptions rather than data drove salary discussions. With the new app solution, Falck can provide real-time analytics so managers can make more informed decisions based on actual data.
