The challenge
The Danish AIDS Foundation has an ERP solution with relatively few users, but works with complex project finances across both national and international initiatives.
In 2021, the organization’s ERP system was migrated to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Cloud. The solution was subsequently updated with a new chart of accounts, opening up new digital opportunities and enabling more automated workflows.
Although the necessary financial data was available, project follow-up and financial overview required manual data extractions. Department heads and project managers depended on the finance team for insights.
The Danish AIDS Foundation therefore needed a solution that could improve overview, increase transparency, and make it easier to work with finances and projects in everyday operations.

The solution
Business Central Cloud
The Danish AIDS Foundation now has a modern and user-friendly ERP solution that provides better opportunities to optimize accounting workflows. The search function makes it easy and intuitive to find information.
By using Business Central Cloud, the organization avoids future upgrade projects. The solution is automatically updated and provides access to new functionality such as AI and Power Automate.
Power BI
Based on data from Business Central, the Danish AIDS Foundation now has a Power BI dashboard that provides a consolidated financial overview of the organization’s projects.
The solution ensures transparency through dimensions such as donor and project, and enables comparisons between budget and actual results.
Project managers can now monitor their own projects without relying on manual data extractions.
About The Danish AIDS Foundation
The Danish AIDS Foundation is a private humanitarian organization working nationally and internationally with prevention, testing, counselling, and awareness related to HIV and AIDS. The organization focuses on the most vulnerable population groups and works to improve access to prevention and treatment while reducing stigma and discrimination. It also participates in political processes in Denmark and internationally to strengthen the global HIV response as part of development aid.
