The challenge

Terrafame was entering a new and rapidly growing market as it began producing battery chemicals for electric vehicle batteries. The company needed to better understand and manage customer information, customer dynamics, and the tracking of sales projects. Critical business functions were still handled in hundreds of Excel files, and digitization was necessary to support reliable and traceable customer promise management.

The solution

Terrafame modernized its CRM system by digitizing the tracking and reporting of sales projects and later building tracking for product deliveries to support billing processes. The solution was implemented using Microsoft Power Platform, configured to reduce customization and ensure easy future development. Other O365 functionalities were integrated, and partners such as logistics providers were included in the data input and reporting process.

Terrafame is a Finnish metals and battery chemicals company founded in 2015. The company operates one of the world’s largest production lines for battery chemicals for electric vehicles at its industrial site in Sotkamo, Finland.

The new system immediately improved sales project tracking, reduced manual work, and significantly lowered error rates.
