The challenge
Following the 2018 merger of YIT and Lemminkäinen, the new organisation needed common tools and harmonised working methods. Reporting tools varied across business areas, and there was no comprehensive or consistent way to collect and report data. Reporting at work sites was often felt to be awkward and time‑consuming. The goal was to consolidate reporting processes and retire several group‑level reporting services.

The solution
The project began with a pre‑survey to map reporting processes across business areas and define platform requirements. Microsoft Power Platform was selected to consolidate and simplify reporting. The development progressed from the first version into continuous development. Initial modules included waste and environmental reporting, followed by project management status reporting and a module for reporting COVID‑19 exposures. A monthly status reporting module for work sites was also introduced. Training was delivered mainly through Teams.
